Review of The African Queen (1952) by Keenan S — 21 Dec 2012
The African Queen is easily one of the best films in both Katharine Hepburn's and Humprhey Bogart's careers. This film works at all three genres it attempts to be: War epic, romance, and adventure.
This film was a blast to watch because it was very exciting and incredibly thrilling with its adventure sequences. It also has its own sense of humor which is really funny and adds more dimension to such great characters.
I'll take the adventures of The African Queen over most modern adventure films any day! It's a truly superb adventure film that is rightfully known as a classic, and if you love adventure films, you need to see it.
