Review of The African Queen (1952) by Gus C — 10 Jan 2014
Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn gave one of their best performances in this film, and this is great because it took place towards the end of their careers, rather than the beginning. What stood out to me is Bogart's appearance; he looked sickly, and this was due to health problems which led to his death in 1957.
However, he truly gave a terrific performance which earned him to a well deserved Oscar.
