Review of The Adventures of Tintin (2011) by Adam A — 30 Jul 2012
Liked, liked, liked. I'm not familiar with the original works, but I very much enjoyed this film. The look is great (despite the motion capture CGI, it still manages to look and feel like a Spielberg film) and all of the actors are well cast.
Some have claimed otherwise, but the animation never delved into the Uncanny Valley in my opinion, and some of the set piece moments are really sharp. In particular, I loved a late-film chase sequence that's a continuous, five-minute shot.
It's something you're unlikely to see in traditionally-filmed fare and it's a blast. I hope the teased sequel comes to be.
