Review of The Adventures of Tintin (2011) by Peter N — 16 Oct 2012
I find this film extremely interesting in the fact that it manages to draw upon elements of the Indiana Jones franchise without becoming a re-hashed rip-off. I guess Spielberg's talents can be credited for that move.
The animation is incredible, and it's great to see what they can do with it in this day and age. There are enough action sequences to keep viewers of all ages engaged in the film, but the story itself is a little dull.
I'm unfamiliar with the source material, and therefore am not the best judge, but I just couldn't get involved with what was going on. Visually, it's an incredible film. Substance-wise, not so much.
