Another great one: great casting, great script, great music, great costumes, Errol Flynn in tights, but the real star of this picture is Technicolor. WOW!! Every blue, green, yellow, pink and etc. absolutely ravishes the eye.
It's almost as if Warner Bros. decided to dare anybody to ask what the big deal was with color--if there had been any naysayers at all, surely they melted away after "The Adventures of Robin Hood".
And how great then to have Errol Flynn at his most virile, Olivia deHavilland at her loveliest, and the wonderful Claude Rains at his most deliciously evil? "...Ah, yes...the rrrrransom." Pure pleasure.
