[100/A+] It really doesn't get any better than this: a dashing, exuberant Technicolor comic book swashbuckler that elevates the viewer with its purity, fun, and laughing-in-the-face-of-death optimism.
Eroll Flynn, of course, was born to play this role, and play it with a kind of innocent power. And a truly brilliant cast, including smashing performances from Basil Rathbone and Claude Rains, amongst others, help to keep up the pace. Never a dull moment. Kinetic, colorful, bold, silly-sublime merriment.
