Review of The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938) by Spyros T — 05 Aug 2011
There are some classical films that can withstand the pass of time. This is not one of them in my opinion.
Sure, many elements of this film were deemed "breakthrough" at the time but that was more than 70 years ago. I find some parts too dated to enjoy, notably the seemingly forced laughs, the over the top joyful atmosphere and the cheesiness of some of the costumes. At times felt like I was watching a Mel Brook's parody.
