The romance between Robin and Marian is really what carries this film to the heights it reaches. There's great chemistry between Erroll Flynn--who's very funny in this role--and Olivia de Havilland, who was equally awesome in her transformative role as Marian.
I also liked the unusual characterization of the Sheriff as a laughable buffoon among the more menacing villains, even though the Sheriff shows more whiles than the rest of them put together. A fantastic movie and, by far, the best Robin Hood out there.
