Review of The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994) by Mark M — 13 Jun 2009
A courageous and novel effort that really works. Go watch drag queens in Key West and you'll see this tale is more accurate than most. A few good laughs and a great feel for the Aussie desert. I wached for the 3rd time, but the 1st time in Australia, and having been out ot the 'Red Centre', I upgrade this movie, it has a different feel when you recognise the amazing scenery and the big, big skies.
And it wasn't just the camp queens that gave us the laughs, but the ute driving, hard drinking guys, one or two of whom deny their gay feelings by turning to violence. So many messages in this film.
