Review of The Adventures of Pluto Nash (2002) by David B — 29 Jan 2012
I just watched this out of curiosity. I've always heard how bad it was, how much it lost due to poor box office, and so forth. It's not a masterpiece of cinema, but 99% of movies aren't either. The story wasn't groundbreaking and original, but again, how many 'blockbuster' or even moderately successful movies are?
The characters are likeable, the story (while cliched) is interesting enough to keep your attention, provided you're not going into it expecting a masterpiece. It's not a great movie, its a mediocre movie that can be enjoyed on certain levels. The legend of how bad it is is undeserved. This movie lost a lot of money for the studio, but it was better than any of the Twilight movies, which made their studio hundreds of millions. Don't judge it by the money, folks.
