Review of The Adventures of Milo and Otis (1986) by Marty T — 15 Nov 2009
A masterpiece. A triumph for ginger kittens everywhere. Unfortunately the dog takes up way too much screen time, and his acting is just plain appalling, he is literally chewing the scenery. His performance lacks the subtlety and grace of the cat, naturally.
(I say "the dog" and "the cat" because the filmmakers have neglected to give proper credit to these actors by telling us their names. Just another example of the shocking animal exploitation which was so rampant in Hollywood in the 80's.
) Also, I got sick of Dudley Moore talking all the time. So I've subtracted one star because Dudley and the dog got way too much screen time and sort of ruined it. Other than that, it was sublime.
