Review of The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949) by David L — 09 Jul 2018
The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad is easily Disney's finest package film and one of the studio's most underappreciated gems that should belong on any top 20 Disney lists. The stories do not share much in common and the narration can be overwhelming, but The Wind in the Willows is a perfectly adapted, charming and fun story and of course The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is the highlight with its unforgettable story, intriguing characters and an immensely dark, atmospheric ending.
The animation is also terrific as is the underrated soundtrack consisting of a couple of wonderful songs by the great Bing Crosby.
