Review of The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988) by David K — 20 Jun 2010
The third and final installment in the Terry Gilliam fantasy vs reality film series. While it's not as good as the previous, Brazil, I enjoyed this film allot more then Time Bandits. It had allot of double meaning which I like, however, some was too far fetched and extremely difficult to interpret.
I watched the dvd commentary with Gilliam, in hopes he would shed some light on the subject. Instead he openly admits that he does not remember exactly what they were doing anymore. Which is pretty hilarious but also a little disappointing.
If you cant even remember what the heck you were trying to say, how can anyone on the outside ever figure it out? Overall it's a fun film with some nice meaning attached to it.
