Review of The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988) by Jon G — 26 Jan 2008
John Neville is a delight in this, probably the zaniest adventure from Terry Gilliam (and this is the guy who did Brazil). A little girl saves the life of an eccentric old man claiming to be the legendary adventurer Baron Munchausen.
Together they set sail on an Airship whose sails are comprised of knickers...and off they go! Among the many fantastical sights are the King of the Moon and a rendezvous under the Earth with Venus. Great looking, almost hallucinatory, which is just what you'd expect from Mr.
Gilliam.
