Review of The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988) by Mjs M — 23 Feb 2008
Terry Gilliam is one creative guy. This was another film he made so everyone would know exactly how creative he is. That?s sort of the main flaw here, the project just strikes me as more than a little self indulgent.
There is a lot of visual wit here, and the story is never boring, but I?m not sure there?s a lot of substance. It?s definitely a cut above Time Bandits, but it?s a step back from Brazil. Entertaining, but not really up there with the greats.
