Review of The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988) by Richard D — 11 Feb 2014
Although this was made during the period of Gilliam's career where he could seemingly do no wrong, my impression is that it was considered a bit of a disappointment as a follow-up to "Brazil".
In one sense that's fair, since this is no "Brazil", but really, what is? ("Brazil" I suppose) I really like this film, especially the way the various levels of reality blend and blur into each other.
It has a superb cast too. I love dancing the way Oliver Reed does.
