Review of The Adjuster (1991) by J D — 03 Feb 2008
Oh, Atom Egoyan, what is going on in your head? Between him and David Cronenberg, I'm a little concerned what's going on in the Great White North. Definitely not a movie for everyone, but for those who enjoy Egoyan's work, a strong, complex, challenging movie.
It wasn't until this movie that it struck me how much like a young Robert DeNiro does Elias Koteas resemble, and he's just as great an actor, as is Maury Chaykin, one of those character actors who has an instantly recognizeable face and always adds a sly gravitas to his role.
