Review of The Addams Family (1991) by Zoey B — 29 Oct 2008
This big-screen adaptation, for the most part, is a fairly good adaptation of both the original TV show and the original comic strip, combining the best aspects of both. I never get tired of this kooky family, and love all the dark humor that comes with them. Add to that, all the actors were perfectly-cast for the roles as well.
I'm actually surprised Tim Burton didn't make this movie, as the entire thing has a very Burtonish feel to it.
Now I want to see a Director's Cut that adds back in the 30+ minutes of scenes that were cut because they were deemed a bit too violent/graphic/dark for a family movie.
