Review of The Act of Killing (2012) by Jack B — 17 Nov 2013
A transcendent experience that was an original, haunting and a horrific representation of our world. The Act of Killing is a true masterpiece but not something that is easy to watch and a film that raises many debates.
The film not only asses what it is to kill but analyses why it happens, the responsibility of our most violent actions and what we are capable of. The answers the film offers disturb, astound but most unsettling of all, the film occasionally offers insights that resonate unphasingly with the world we know and it is that fact that makes this confrontational and provocative feature so powerful.
