Review of The Act of Killing (2012) by Dan G — 05 Feb 2014
A surreal documentary about the mass murders committed in the 60's Indonesia. The killers gladly pose in fictious dramatized versions of their horrible acts during the terror campaign intended to remove all "communist" elements from the post military revoltion nation.
The surreal scenes of American gansters recreating acts of torture and even dance numbers (in drag) tell the story of horrors men are capable of but in some cases don't have pay for...Or become celebrities by.
Chilling story with a very powerful message (and ending).
