Review of The Act of Killing (2012) by Sebastian O — 19 Feb 2014
A nauseating but fascinating look on the pride a killer has on having killed. It's the open secret and belief in Indonesia that men have the right to be gangsters, as said by the Vice President himself.
The documentary is skillfully edited, cutting from an act of violence to a deadly killer hugging a 6-year-old child. An amazing, but sometimes slow, film that is worth watching, though I wouldn't recommend it to sensitive viewers.
