Review of The Accountant (2016) by Jesse W — 01 Jan 2017
Another example of the ever flawed tomatometer missing the mark.
This film recalls an era of 80s/90s action movies I love. the ridiculous premise is typical of this genre but original in approach. care is given to flesh out the ideas presented enough so you can laugh along with it rather than at it. another lost relic of old action movies: humor. I believe some critics couldn't see this film as self aware. this is troubling as clearly there was so much put into mulling over the plot points it would be ridiculous to think otherwise. I think it hit the mark with audiences because its entertaining. yes it may be far fetched but it is a movie after all.
