The Accountant is directed by Gavin O'Connor, and it stars Ben Affleck, Anna Kendrick, J.K Simmons, and Jon Bernthal in a crime thriller about an accountant that has autism, and when solving a solution, there were people that are coming after the company that Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) works at, including his co-worker Dana Cummings (Anna Kendrick), and it turns out that Christian has a lot of skills that overcomes people that are going after them, while also the Treasure director in the department is looking for him to arrest him.

I didn't really had much going for this movie since the trailers didn't quite sold it quite yet to me despite the fact that I enjoyed Gavin O'Connor's Warrior. The reviews are split, but Chris Stuckmann was talking about how much he enjoyed it and how underrated it is.

So for curious sake, I decide to rent it while also with The Nice Guys as they are both underrated from what he said, and I'll get to that in the next review. So for this, I'll get started in an amazing film like this that was a surprise to me.

Ben Affleck gives off one of his best performances since Gone Girl, which is probably his best so far, as he is believable as an autistic person that has some serious skills, and when things get tense, he calms himself down in interesting ways.

The rest of the cast has some memorable performances that there's no weak link here, and the action is really good, which there's not much of, but still remain relevant to be there. The characters are great, especially the main character who remain a mystery until the middle, and it does a great job of keeping you interested in wanting to know more about the main character.

I was a bit confused about J.K Simmons's story at first because I felt like there wasn't much more of a connection for the main character himself other then they're looking for him, but I still remain invested, and it made sense when it was towards the third act about its connection.

The writing by Bill Dubuque is solid enough for me to understand what's going on, and he direction by Gavin O'Connor is very good. This is one of those films that I don't mind seeing a sequel as there are some questions that weren't quite answered, while still making another story about where it's going after the first events as The Accountant is a fantastic film that was better than I expected.
