Review of The Accountant (2016) by Simon P — 01 Oct 2017
I went into watching this film having seen the trailer and expecting no more than a generic action thriller with the slight difference in that the lead has Autism. This doesn't mean I thought it was going to be a bad film I just expected one thing but what I actually watched was so much better.
This film has action, granted not a massive amount but when a sequence begins it's exciting, well staged and great to watch. Affleck's performance is fantastic, not only is he a great anti hero as we've never really seen him; he also looks like he fully understood behavioural traits he would need to have whilst convincing the audience he has autism.
The supporting cast are also good, and what I liked about this film is that you're so sure it's going in one direction only to totally surprise you by going another. The twists are well placed and good, and also the score is very appropriate for this movie.
I loved it, I think it's a masterpiece; and I can't wait to watch it again.
