Review of The Accountant (2016) by Dann M — 07 May 2017
The Accountant is an exciting crime thriller that's full of intrigue. The story follows an accountant named Christian Wolf who's hired by a robotics company to look over their book, but when he discovers that money's being stolen someone attempts to kill him; meanwhile Treasury agents begin searching for him after connecting him to a number of drug cartels and terrorist organizations.
Starring Ben Affleck, Anna Kendrick, J.K. Simmons, and Jon Bernthal, the film has an impressive cast that delivers some strong performances. And the fight sequences are incredible intense and action-packed.
The writing is also fairly good, creating interesting characters and building an engaging mystery/investigation. Still, some of the characters are a little underdeveloped and the plot has a few weaknesses.
Yet overall The Accountant is a solid film that's entertaining and delivers a lot of thrills.
