Review of The Accidental Tourist (1988) by Koji L — 28 Oct 2006
Viewed on cable in Taiwan.
I dunno. I first watched this in the theaters when it first came out, and I totally loved it.
Watching it now, it's just so contrived. The first time I saw it, I thought the only problem was Geena Davis was too appealing, whereas I think in the book, that character is kinda unattractive and annoying. This time watching it, not even Geena Davis was appealing, and that was the least of the problems. Not a credible story, not credible characters.
Great actors pulling their weight, but I'd have to pass on ever seeing this again.
