Review of The Accidental Husband (2008) by Pat M — 28 Oct 2014
Despite a good cast headed by Uma Thurman and with supporting roles filled by Isabella Rossellini and Colin Firth this is a pretty dire attempt at romantic comedy. Pitched between two suitors, Thurman plays an uptight and self-righteous radio host who finds herself in an increasingly silly and implausible situation where there are pitifully few laughs and blatantly obvious plot devices that lead her to making the right decision.
You can just see the bored boyfriends and long suffering girlfriends enduring this film to attempt to set the mood on Valentines Day as minute by minute, the prospect of passion evaporates with each toe curling scene.
At least the New York setting looks nice as the action unfolds and at 85 minutes, there's not a huge amount of your life that you lose in enduring the goings on.
