Review of The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971) by Rob B — 27 Sep 2008
While this film has some awesome and ridiculous death scenes (some very far fetched like catapulting a golden unicorn head) and it has the presence of Vincent Price, I didn't feel that they properly used him in this film (or it's sequel).
Vincent Price's character lost the ability to speak after surviving a horrible car crash, thus you only occasionally hear the wonderful-classic voice of vincent price on rare occasions when he attaches a little machine to himself and we hear a recording of him play.
While it is entertaining to see him move his throat and act as though he can't speak without actually speaking, I hold this fact responsible for me falling asleep for about 5 minutes in the middle of the film.
This review has turned into a rant and I am ending it now.
