Review of The ABCs of Death (2013) by Al M — 16 Mar 2013
Featuring twenty-six short films about death from twenty-six different directors, The ABCs of Death is an extremely difficult film to rate, but, overall, I must say that I was fundamentally disappointed in it.
Despite featuring some truly remarkable directors, The ABCs of Death ultimately fell flat for me because its overriding mode was comedy instead of horror, and I have grown extremely weary of horror comedies.
A few excellent segments save the film from being a complete piece of crap, but The ABCs of Death would have been more effective as a thirty-minute film featuring only a handful of the current films.
