Review of The A-Team (2010) by Matthew E — 01 Feb 2012
While The A-Team has it's moments, overall, it's story goes anywhere except according to plan. Especially when compared to the likes of the classic original 1980s TV series, this dud is more like "The C-Minus Team".
And, with being a dedicated fan of the series, two things still come to mind years after seeing the movie: (1) I want my money back, Joe Carnahan and (2) Why did the A-Team van get limited screen time? I mean, seriously! The van is what makes the show iconic to this day, along with the original cast.
The part where it gets destroyed within the first five minutes of the movie pretty much sums up my vain anticipation for the film's success. It's almost as if the director himself purposely included this scene with the intention of crushing any expectations true fans would ever have for such a disappointment, as well as attempting to crush the spirit of the 80's decade itself.
Next time, better switch to Plan "B". Long live the oldies!
