They got it all right. They didn't try to replicate the random cheesy 80s show, but got some good moments of similar dialogue in there. The action is awesome, the shots are good and the final scene is well plotted in the script, and on screen.
Casting choices could not have been better. It was everything I wanted in the film, plus more.
