Review of The A-Team (2010) by Ben D — 27 Jan 2014
It was never going to be a classic but if the plan was to entertain then this plan has well and truly come together.
It's a blockbuster action movie that specialises in the ridiculous. Great action sequences that do look quite spectacular and a decent storyline that doesn't disappoint. In most respects it does the tv series proud, bullets spraying everywhere, crazy plans to escape certain death in impossibly devised quick thinking ways. So why only a good film? Some of the dialogue is poor, and I'm being kind with my wording, and although the cast do a decent job some fall very short in making the character anywhere near the likability of the characters in the tv series. It was always going to be a difficult task to achieve brilliance as obviously a tv series has time to leave it's mark where a movie needs to be instantaneous while laying down foundations for future instalments. Still I pity the fool that doesn't enjoy the A team.
