Review of The 9th Life of Louis Drax (2016) by Farah R — 08 May 2017
The film tries so hard to become the next great fantasy about a troubled child but with an obnoxious, hamster-murdering protagonist it's no wonder The 9th Life Of Louis Drax barely makes it as a watchable thriller.
Incorporating a hideous monster with a deep voice who acts as the child's guide fails to meet up the expectations set by A Monster Calls and Pan's Labyrinth who portray this concept beautifully.
Furthermore, the lack of explanation and coherence between the fairytale realm and the real world is confusing and very annoying which ultimately leads to a disastrous experience. This movie is a complete disappointment and a total waste of time.
