This is a very strange film. The concept is really interesting and that by itself makes you think throughout the entire thing, but the execution is so bad it's beyond so bad it's good. My favourite line was "that's enough philosophy" at the end of the thing after a headslappingly bad speech that tries so hard to be deep. The fact it was meant to be said straight made me laugh non-stop for about 10 mins.

There are some coolish shootouts, but all the "twists" in the story (its a stretch to call them twists) are totally obvious and won't suprise you one bit. Having said this, the very end you won't see coming as you'd expect some triumphant finale but instead it falls flat on its face like a drunk stumbling out of a pub at 5am on New Years Eve.

Even the one-liners are tame and will induce more groans than a very horny virtual-reality stripper, except these groans will not be of pleasure but of embarassment. They also tried really hard to shoe-horn in "I'll be Back", which made me want to snap the DVD in two and slit my wrists with the jagged edges just to put me out of my misery.

Still, despite its awfulness it is really actually worth a watch just to consider stuff about cloning and the nature of reality and yourself. Also it seems to be a rare hollywood blockbuster that is vaugely antireligious so I guess for that it should be given some credit.
