Review of The 6th Day (2000) by Zachary K — 29 May 2012
The 6th Day delivers double the Arnold in this sci-fi action thriller. Dealing with issues of mortality and identity, the story follows a pilot named Adam Gibson as he's pursued by a corporation that's trying to cover-up their illegal cloning activities.
The cast is pretty good and includes Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Rooker, Sarah Wynter, and Robert Duvall. Plus, the film has an interesting aesthetic with a lot of inventive high tech gadgetry. However, the film only addresses its subject material in a cursory manner, which is disappointing given the potential.
While it has issues balancing story and action, The 6th Day still managers to be a fun, entertaining film.
