Review of The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T. (1953) by John M — 28 Nov 2007
You will not see a movie like this, ever again. For me, this is the only Dr Seuss movie, Jim Carrey be damned. Wrote and designed it, his touch is everywhere, from the cartoon-hand wall sconces to the dungeon musician scene, my favorite.
And the 1950s vibe is horribly string, down to the sole dark-skinned actor, hooded to protect the innocent. But just to see the whitebread actors signing their hearts out, and to throw out your skeptical disbelief for a while, is priceless.
