Review of The 40 Year Old Virgin (2005) by Guido S — 11 Feb 2014
Steve Carell is a 40-something who lives by himself, works at an electronics store in the backroom, has plenty of unopened toys and is single. One night, his coworkers find out he is a virgin during a game of poker and set out to chane that.
The film is vulgar and crass, but that works for it since Carell plays it so innocently that it evens out somehow. Despite this being almost 10 years old now, it still holds up really well and keeps the laughs coming at a constant rate throughout.
A lot of people have small roles in this from Kevin Hart, Kat Dennings, Elizabeth Banks, Jonah Hill, and Mindy Kaling. Still one of the better comedies in recent years.
