The 40-Year-Old Virgin has a very engaging story, very likable characters, terrific humor with many hilarious moments and the acting is phenomenal across the board with Steve Carell giving one of the best performances of his career.
It is very badly edited and too prolonged and the script should have been more sophisticated, but it is overall an extremely funny movie that also has a lot of heart and is a blast to watch.
