Review of The 39 Steps (1935) by Liam O — 28 Sep 2008

The 39 Steps by Alfred Hitchcock was brilliant.
When I read the release year (1935), I was a bit put off as I'm used to watching contemporary films. But it was as if I was watching a new release. If it wasn't in black and white and the sound quality was put up a notch, this could pass as a 2008 movie. The sweeping shots and dialogue aren't something you see or hear in a 1930s piece, which kind of takes you by surprise, which I was delighted about.
It was a great film I could watch time and time again.
