Review of The 39 Steps (1935) by Særún G — 16 Feb 2009
Fantastic film, on all levels. Probably in the top five of all Hitchcock films. Photography is brilliant, treatment of characters perfect. A bedroom scene at a bed & breakfast is surprisingly beguiling for 1935 and more alluring than the best romantic films today.
Hitch is the man. Be sure to get the Criterion Collection version.
