Review of The 39 Steps (1935) by Jim E — 25 Aug 2010
A very good thriller. Of the Hitchcock films I've seen, it is most similar to Foreign Correspondent.
But as much as I enjoyed the movie, there is one enormous flaw though that I can't ignore: when Hannay wakes up to find that Smith has just been stabbed, why does he not fear that the stabber is still in his apartment? Hannay assumes that there is no chance that the stabber is about to walk in and stab him too; and that makes no sense.
