Review of The 39 Steps (1935) by Patrick M — 16 Jan 2011
A tough one to review because it has just aged really poorly. For its time it was very well done. You can see a glimpse of Hitchcock's prowess that we would all be familiar with later. This is a pretty suspenseful movie with some pretty good acting.
It's kind of entertaining, I don't really know. The plot will keep you in suspense and there's enough twists and turns. I actually like a lot of the subtle humor in this movie as well.
Not a bad movie, but Hitchcock had his best work ahead.
