I would like to start out this review by saying that I am Chilean. That this film is representing our culture and our people, and I think it did a damn good job of it.
I felt like I was in Chile, hanging out with Chilean people. The film made me insanely nostalgic for home. In that sense, the film really succeeded.
The first half of the film, I think is extremely strong. its well paced and has solid performances. Antonio Banderas' Spaniard accent sticks out like a sore thumb, but he's not over doing the acting.
Really, the only problem with the film is that it derails a bit in the second half. It could have used a few more read throughs. But over all it was a very good movie I will gladly watch again.
