Review of The 15:17 to Paris (2018) by Nadjib R — 04 May 2018
The 15:17 to Paris is a story of heroism and triumph of the good over the bad, it boasts the notion of courage and bravery or at least that's what it suppose to do, putting the real-life story aside, this film is a huge misfire by Clint Eastwood, as much as it pains me to say that but it is, from start to finish we get this pasty, watered down narrative of the real story, the use of the actual people who saved the train is a great touch but at the end it felt more like a badly made documantery than a movie based on real-life events, like I said it pains me to even bring this up but a huge idol of mine has indeed dropped the ball with this one, it lacked depth and vision and I honestly can't believe I'm saying this about a Clint Eastwood film, frankly it's not a big deal because these stories can go both ways and they're very unperdictable in terms of reactions.
Ultimately, this film is saved only by its story and nothing else, which is kinda sad considering the great premise that makes for a great action film.
