Review of The 15:17 to Paris (2018) by Matt V — 13 Feb 2018
I was really disappointed in this film. Without seeing a trailer, I was already set to see the film just based on the fact that Clint Eastwood was directing. But after having seen the film, he should have made the film into a documentary rather than a feature film.
The bulk of the film hinges on the friendship between three men, the same three men who are the heroes of said incident. Let's just say it doesn't work and I was bored for most of the film. The actual terror attack itself is contained mostly to the last 15 minutes of the film and even then it isn't really all that exciting or intense.
The terrorist gets off one shot and then like that, it's over. Having seen a good number of films directed by Eastwood, I expected something much more. But everyone deserves a flop and this is what that is: a thin story stretched into a 90+ minute film which should have been a 90 minute documentary.
Skip it and rent it at Redbox later this year.
