Review of The 13th Warrior (1999) by Francisca M — 21 Feb 2010
There should be more movies with vikings. I do enjoy the history. I've read the book and it's a decent book. Not one of his better ones but ok. The movie is not bad. I like watching it. It changes things, of course but they aren't bad.
I just don't like Antonio Banderas in it. It's really hard for him to play another culture with that accent. It's too obvious. I didn't find it believable nor did I like his acting of the part.
Other than that, I liked the rest of the movie. The other 11 and their leader are good and I think the ending is the best part of the movie. Other scenes I liked were the funeral, the young boy and his home, and other little tidbits here and there.
