I myself cannot understand why this movie has such a low rating.
It is probably one of the best portrayals of the viking image around. No silly horned helmets or trips across the sky in ships. Though I did find the Banderas character a little odd / out of place initially,the movie really grabbed my attention with striking viking images ie ships,costumes,settlement life etc.
It may be overlooked but it is still one of my personal favourites and by far the best 'viking themed' film in modern cinema.
