Review of The 11th Hour (2007) by Shelley G — 10 Dec 2007
It seems like environmental issues are all the rage, I remember the same thing happened around 15 to 20 years ago (the hole in the Ozone layer) and then went away for a little while. But now it's back, it's good that people are concerned about the environment again, but it does seem to have the rythem of a fad.
'The 11th Hour' is a pretty good film, it has great material from informative 'experts' and has some beutiful shots, archive footage or original. It's big disadvantage is that it's released so close to 'An Inconvienient Truth'.
It's biggest selling point is probably it's biggest problem, Leonardo DiCaprio. The main thing he's there to do is attract an audience to a film that they wouldn't ordinarily see, but as a narrator he's not got the best voice and his contributions are intrusive to an otherwise great film.
