Review of The 11th Hour (2007) by Dan B — 22 Oct 2007
Quite cluttered. Many novel, thought-provoking ways suggested to save the planet. But that's all the movie really is - fleeting, poorly-developed, yet innovative suggestions. The viewer is left with many new ideas to better the world, but no concrete or detailed enough advice on how to take any action in reality.
The fact that DiCaprio gathered such an astoundingly impressive array of experts - i.e. Stephen Hawking & Mikhail Gorbachev - on the topic is noteworthy, and I give him props for that. I also give him props for caring and for trying to do something, in his own way, to sound the alarm about climate change and other pressing problems - even if the end-product pales in comparison to other far superior, more coherent recent documentaries like "Sicko" and "An Inconvenient Truth.
