Review of The 11th Hour (2007) by Jim N — 07 May 2008
I saw "The End of Suburbia" a few years ago, and the ideas in it (Peak Oil, etc.) were laid out plainly and irrefutably. Since then, its predictions have begun to come true, and this straightforward, important film crystallizes the priorities we all would be well advised to familiarize ourselves with while we still have the waning luxury of time.
DiCaprio hopefully draws a wider audience to the film but he is only one voice amidst the other scientists, thinkers, politicians, etc. It made me angrier than ever at self-serving governments and corporate-profit driven madmen, but also suggests some pretty visionary alternatives to the Mad Max scenario.
